It is recommended that you seal your bow after you've finished it. We suggest Spray Polyurethane Bow Finishor Tru-Oil Finish. Comes with a bow string. Sold in Right or Left Handed in weights of 35-40, 40-45, 45-50, and 50-55 at 28". Please specify. Approximately 71" to 72" tip-to-tip (69½" string groove-to-string groove). Manufacturer recommends not drawing this bow past 28". Please note: This bow does not have a warranty. Click here for U Finish Longbow instructions from Grayvn Archery. Bow stringer not included. A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. Remember that with a traditional bow the weight will change depending your draw length. Bow weight will change approximately ±2½ pounds for every inch from a bows rated draw length. So, a bow rated 35# @ 28" is roughly a 32½# @ 27". Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard. It is recommended to unstring your primitive bow when you are done shooting, and only string it right before shooting. Store your bow on its side, or hanging vertically from a peg. Never rest the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time. Never dry fire the bow (shooting without an arrow). Read about Longbow & Recurve Set-up

If you wanted to you could trim this down. Keep in mind the shorter you go the more the pull weight will become.
The bow blank is about 72" long and about 1 1/2" wide at the riser section.
It does have the string grooves cut into the tips, however you can sand that down to put horn nock on the tips
